The 2017 camp dates are HERE!

Our summer camp program at Lucky C Stables is a fun, safe, and educational experience for children of all ages and levels!

Summer camp fieldtrip 2016    camp 2016

We have a diverse group of thoroughly trained camp counselors including our main instructors, our very own college students, all the way down to responsible teenages who have grown up in our barn and truly have a love and passion for horses who serve as junior counselors.  Because we have such a vast knowledge base, our goal is to not only maintain an extremely safe 2 to 1 camper/counselor ratio, but to allow your child the greatest opportunity to learn about these wonderful animals.

Camp has two sessions: full day runs from 9am-3pm and the half day session runs from 9am-12:30pm.  A typical full day of camp includes 2 riding lessons (one in the morning & one in the afternoon), basic horse care, an educational activity in the barn (horse first aid, horse nutrition, etc.), arts and crafts & games.  A half day session includes 1 lesson each day, basic horse care and an educational activity.

2017 Camp Schedule:

June 26 – 30 - Advanced Camp – Current customers or outside riders jumping 2’-2’6”+ comfortably.  Show during the week at Gardnertown.  Lucky C show on Sunday (not included in camp).

July 3- July 7 – Week 2: Beginner – Open to all riding levels, but geared towards beginners.  Individualized attention is the key to developing solid riding skills and this week has just that!

July 10 – 14 – Week 3: Beginner/Intermediate – Open to all levels of riders, but this weak is geared towards those who are more comfortable with their riding abilities.  With that being said, we are still accepting beginner riders for this week as well.

July 17 – 21 – Week 4: Beginner/Intermediate - Open to all riders, but this week will start focusing more on jumping exercises for our intermediate riders and learning the strategies necessary to control and steer their mount for our beginners.

July 24-28 – Week 5: Intermediate - Open to riders jumping x-rails and smaller fences.  If you have a beginner rider interested in this week, please call the farm to discuss the details as we'd love to accommodate your child!

July 31 – August 4 – Week 6: Show Camp – Open to all riders that want to show but weren’t eligible for the Advanced Camp (those in WT - Short Stirrup).  We will be showing on August 5 at Brookedge Farms.
